Tecno own the stage kicked off the New Year with a bang! Last episode in the spirit of Christmas the contestants were spared from being evicted. However with the season over, the contestants came prepared for the worst. This week saw the contestants perform songs from some of the greatest bands in history.
The hosts Vimbai and Uti looking as stunning as always went on to introduce the first contestant of the night, Yubu.
Yubu who didn’t have such a good time last episode came on to redeem himself with “Hotel California” originally performed by The Eagles. The Kenyan was however unable to redeem himself as the judges commented that his performance had become a tad bit predictable. He was advised to stop playing it safe.
The next performer was Sikin who came on to perform En Vogue’s “Don’t Let Go”. The judges seemed pleased by her performance, which was followed by Rama254’s performance of Boys II Men’s classic “End of the road”.Ramar certainly lit things up for the night s his performance which was dedicated to Yemi Alade really impressed the judges as well as the audience.
Up next was Zoccou who was up performing “Foot Print” by T. K. O. The Tanzanians performance was the first performance of a reggae song in the competition.
Nandy was next performing “Survivor” by Destiny’s child because what’s a band night without a Destiny’s child eh?!Unfortunately she didn’t do much surviving and the judges observed this much.
Tosin was up next performing Westlife’s classic “My Love”, the judges noted that safe for her missing her lines all the time, which she did gain this week, she could possibly be one of the strongest contenders.
Mary came and turned things around as she delivered Westlife’s “You Raise Me Up” brilliantly.
Pascal who finally found his foot in the show last week Aerosmith’s hit ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’. Luckily for the Kenyan he continued from where he picked up last week as the judges commended his performance.
Performing last was Shapira Makepeace who has stayed owning the stage. She went on to slay Boys II Men’s Water runs dry earning her three resounding gbosas! From the audience.
The moment of reckoning came and Tosin, Yubu and Zooccu who were the bottom three, were all evicted from the show.
Their exit brings the 6 remaining contestants three steps closer to the $25,000 star prize.
