Duh! Where else would they go to react?
Ever since the rumours that Twitter will be extending the 140-character limit started floating around, Twitter users have been doing what they love to do: tweet and express their opinions.
Here are some of the reactions from around the little blue birdie’s nest:
Someone likes the idea
Totally cool with the 140 character limit going away! @jack

But Osarumen thinks it’s a bad idea
@twitter is slowly killing the quirks that gives it its appeal. Bad, bad idea to keep Facebook-ifying the service, in the $$$ chase.

#Save140
Dear Twitter, We're here for a reason. You're burning the reason. 10000 characters won't make it look like twitter anymore. #SAVE140

The fun of twitter is the limited character stuff, reply anticipation & continuous short interaction. Increased character count is a No-No

Tough not to agree
10000 characters?! No Twitter. Just, no. Your beauty lies in brevity.
— Shuchi Singh Kalra (@shuchikalra) January 6, 2016
Lol?
10000 characters on twitter?! Naaa that would be tweet book.. you don't want to give Nigerians that privilege… nope uhn uhn
— Christianne (@1Christar) January 5, 2016
Good advice
@twitter kindly be advised that a total of 10000 characters will drive your users away and invite more Social media Marketing.

What we said
Mark my words. Twitter want to go to 10000 characters in tweets so they can embed ads in them. Just watch.
— John Fitzpatrick (@j_c_fitz) January 6, 2016
Forget 10000 characters and just add edit button @twitter
— 2NEBANG (@819BANG2NE1) January 6, 2016
Can't believe a social media company wouldn't think to crowdsource a major change in its platform #10000characters
— Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) January 5, 2016
If I wanted to be able to use 10000 characters to write endless inane drivel I'd just go and use Facebook
— Annie West (@anniewestdotcom) January 5, 2016
Let it all out!
if we really get 10k character limit i'll dedicate 10000 characters only to screaming
— rem ⚡️ (@nejikis) January 5, 2016
Yes yes. No hopping on soapboxes please!
Hey Twitter? 140 characters = "get to the point" 10000 characters = "get on your soapbox" Please dont.
