The kidnapped wife of Super Eagles midfielder, Fegor Ogude, Memunat Ogude, has been released.
Memunat was abducted last week when she went out with her children and the husband, Fegor, received a call from the authorities who’d spotted his car abandoned car at another town.
The media officer of the Nigeria U23 team, Timi Ebiakagboro, confirmed her release earlier in a tweet saying she was released on Sunday.
It was not disclosed if the family paid any ransom for her release.
Ogude, who plays for Amkar Perm, was a key member of the victorious Super Eagles team at AFCON 2013 in South Africa, and also featured at the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup in Brazil.
