Code Class Hackathon is organised by Codulab, a software company that connects freelance developers and designers in Africa, with clients who need their services. The event is happening on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Former ICTREC Building, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), from 10am to 5pm.
The hackathon is an event where undergraduates students that reside around these universities – Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), University of Ibadan, Babcock University, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, and Federal College of Education, Osiele – can come together to build a web-based solution. Software developers, programmers, makers, UI/UX designers and tech enthusiasts are also welcome at the event.
Five teams will be competing at the hackathon, with two teams emerging as winners. The challenge will be a skill test where developers and designers will be asked to create an original solution that can fit either inside a mobile phone or a web browser.
This is the first ever Code Class Hackathon, and it is based on the CodeClass Nigeria program. This program equips students in selected Nigerian universities with fundamental coding skills, and professional experiences to help them access careers in technology.
The main aim of the event is to encourage collaboration among Nigerian undergraduates and give them an opportunity to flex their problem solving skills.
If you’re a student of the universities mentioned above, or reside around the area where they’re located, you can apply for the event here, regardless of your expertise.
