“We Are All Going To Catch It”- South African Rapper, AKA Says As He Tests Positive For The Coronavirus

South African award-winning rapper, AKA has revealed that he tested positive for the Coronavirus.

AKA took to his twitter page to disclose his test result and advised everyone to stay safe. In his statement, he revealed that he chose to make his result known to the public to create awareness. He also vowed to share his recovery journey while in self-isolation to help others. He urged his fans to immediately go for a check-up once they start to develop COVID-19 symptoms.

He further revealed that he is looking forward to destigmatizing the virus as people would only pay attention when it happens to a public figure of those close to them.  He wrote: “As soon as you feel that cough coming on, that headache … weakness in your muscles. Chills at night. Trust me. GO TEST ASAP. There’s places where they do the swab at the back of your throat, not that insane up your nose one. Do it so you can know what you dealing with.

I’m looking forward to de stigmatizing this whole thing. It seems like people only sit up and pay attention when it happens to public figures or those close to them. Unfortunately at some point, we are ALL going to catch it.”
