Today, MainOne announced the launch of a service that’s suited for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. Officially named SME-in-a-Box, the service combines high-speed internet, fixed-voice and cloud solutions in affordable packages.

SME-in-a-Box is a simple service designed to encourage business growth, productivity and profitability without compromising quality and value for money. It offers an opportunity for businesses to deliver quality services to their clients at an affordable price. A much needed service in today’s economy where small businesses have to cut a lot of corners in order to stay afloat.

Speaking at the launch, MainOne Product Manager, Value Added Services, Adeyemi Tanimomo said, “SME-in-a-Box is an expression of MainOne’s commitment to constantly innovate as we continue to provide the best connectivity and data network services in West Africa. We also want to provide SMEs access to the same quality of services enjoyed by big organisations to drive their growth and sustainability. The service is especially recommended for startups, professional services companies, architectural firms, law firms, schools, hotels, hospitals, e-commerce firms, retail malls and other businesses that require business support connectivity solutions from one, single provider.”

SMEs are a fundamental part of any economy and it’s not just because they create jobs in a country where unemployment rate is at an all-time high. SMEs build solutions that contribute to the growth of the economy. Honestly, any service that encourages the growth and proliferation is a welcome development.

MainOne is one internet service provider that has not only contributed greatly to the growth of Nigerian startups and SMEs, but also ensured internet connectivity and data solutions in Nigeria is efficient. Their fibre optic cable that runs underneath Yaba in Lagos is one of the reasons why Yaba as we know it exists today.

Right now, SME-in-a-Box is available only in Ikeja and Apapa in Lagos, but MainOne is planning subsequent launches in other parts of Nigeria. Hopefully, this happens soon.
