For those of you who have been living under a pile of rocks, the Nigerian tech ecosystem has been awash with bar talk about the (real size of the) ecommerce space in these parts.
The recently released Kinnevik Q2 2016 earnings report spurred the speculation by revealing that Konga has 184,000 “active customers” and is valued by Kinnevik at $34 million, Rocket has lost 36% of its value since 2015, amongst other things.
In the same vein, we put together a conference call yesterday at noon with a few finance/e-commerce experts like Nairametric’s Ugodre Obi-Chukwu, Interswitch’s Ope Adeoye, Eloho Omame, Yvonne Johnson and Supermart’s Raphael Afaedor.
