Google is hosting another Demo day for female startup founders from all over the world to pitch their innovations this year. Set for November 2, 2016, the Demo Day will display companies founded or co-founded by women to Silicon Valley investors, raise awareness, and attract investment to successful applicants.
The selected applicants for this year will attend the event at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California, where they will pitch to a panel of judges, as well as investors, mentors, and VCs. The event creates an opportunity for participants to join a network of innovators, enjoy press coverage and individualised mentorship and support from Silicon Valley influencers.
Last year, 11 startups from all over the world were given 4 minutes each to pitch their innovations to investors, mentors and community leaders. A mobile and web communication platform for construction teams, Bridgit, was selected as the judges’ favourite.
Applications for this year’s Demo Day are open until October 6, 2016. Startups in the B2B or B2C space are preferred, particularly if they are technology-vertical. Applicants are also expected to be actively raising a Series A round of approximately $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 USD. Additionally, the founder(s) must be available and willing to travel to Silicon Valley for the event from October 30 to November 3, 2016. Interested startups founders can apply here.
For international participants, Google for Entrepreneurs will cover the cost of airfare and the cost of hotel accommodation for a maximum of two rooms.
