3. Digital payment platform and financial solutions provider, Wari, is expanding into Nigeria

Wari has received its license from the Central Bank of Nigeria and will now operate in the country allowing users to make domestic and international remittances in addition to bill payments and other services.

2. Nigeria’s payments space welcomes Payant, a new invoicing software

Payant is an invoicing software for freelancers and SMEs helping them automate their invoicing process and accept instant payments online. Payant was launched off Flutterwave’s Moneywave platform and was founded by Kaduna-based software whiz, Aminu Bakori.

1. Applications are now open for the 2017 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme

African entrepreneurs can now submit their applications on the online application portal. The TEF Entrepreneurship Programme is looking for entrepreneurs with the potential to grow their businesses and collectively generate 1,000,000 new jobs that can contribute at least $10 billion in additional revenues to the African economy. The portal will be open from January 1, 2017 to March 1, 2017 and selection will be on a rolling basis.
