Uzoechi “Uzo” Emenike  professionally known as MNEK, is a British singer, songwriter and record producer whose impressive writing and production credits includes work with Beyoncé, Madonna, Kylie Minogue and much more.

1. Uzo Emenike was born 9th November 1994 to Nigerian parents but grew up in Lewisham, South East London.

2. He signed his first songwriting deal with EMI Publishing in 2009 when he was just 16-years-old.

3. MNEK has written and produced songs for a lot of people like he did on Little Mix’s Wings, Feels So Good for Kylie Minogue, co-wrote Gecko (Overdrive) which was number one hit for Oliver Heldens and featured Becky Hill, penned tracks for The Saturdays, and others.

4 In December 2013, he was one of 15 artistes to make BBC’s Sound Of 2014 long list.

5 Uzo who co-wrote the infectious “Hold Up” on Beyoncé’s magnum opus, Lemonade also co-wrote Duke Dumont and A*M*E’s number one hit, Need U 100% which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording at age 19.

6 In September 2015, MNEK released “Never Forget You” which has been certified Platinum, reaching the number one spot on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart for three consecutive weeks and the top 10 of the national airplay chart.

7 In 2016, he received the ASCAP Vanguard Award for his contribution to songwriting.
