Afrobeats is gradually taking its place back from the Shaku Shaku sensation that came upon the industry sometime in the year 2017 and swept through without care or regard. The likes of Mayorkun, Tekno, Duncan Mighty, Phyno and Falz are gradually shifting the sound template for the year 2018 with their new music singles released that are still enjoying a commercial buzz.
Duncan Mighty’s link up with Wizkid for “Fake Love” would have become the number one as at the time of reading this post; Tekno is enjoying the wave of his latest “Jogodo” which launched him back on the music charts; Phyno and Olamide reworked their collabo magic on “Onyeoma” and the fans are loving it; Falz’ “This Is Nigeria” – a cover version for Childish Gambino’s This Is America is catching on internationally and Kizz Daniel’s feature with DJ Spinall is banging!
