Canadian rapper, Drake has called his father Dennis Graham for saying he lied about their relationship in his music just to sell records.
The “God’s Plan” rapper loves to write songs about not having a stable father figure in his life. Drake has also spoken multiple times in interviews about his childhood in Toronto, stating that it was really hard for his parents to raise him. “I was really hard on my parents for giving me sort of a childhood that I had to wrap my mind around as I grew.”
Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, responded to Drake’s claims earlier this month saying that his lyrics regarding his childhood and relationship with him are all false, “I have always been with Drake. I talk to him, if not every day, every other day.” Graham went on to claim that Drake even admitted to him that his lyrics were false, saying, “We really got into a deep conversation about that… I said, Drake, why are you saying all this stuff about me? This is not cool. [He said] dad, it sells records.”
Drake took to his Instagram page to respond to his Father’s claims, specifically addressing the claim about his lyrics, saying, “Woke up today so hurt man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him. It’s sad when family gets like this, but what can we really do? that’s the people we are stuck with. Every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.
