Everyone knows Nigerians are aspirational, and we love to groove. For us, a good party means loud music, food, drinks, and of course cool fashion styles. This December is going to be a good time for Nigerian fashionistas, and here’s what we expect from some of them at the many tasteful events this December.
The Big Brand Name Folks: At every show Pepsi ambassador, Wizkid has had this year, he has shown up in some fancy big brand clothing which always gets people talking. He is having a Starboy Wizkid Concert this December, and just like him, we expect many of his fans to turn up in skinny jeans, t-shirts, a head warmer and maybe an LV or Gucci jacket to cap things off.
The Cardi B Inspired Styles: If there’s one thing female rap sensations, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have taught the fashion world, it is owning your style and caring less about what people think. We have come to link bold and sexy fashion styles to these two, and if there’s one thing we expect both their fans to do, it is showing up in really crazy outfits that the paparazzi will love when both stars perform this December. It’s the first time for both stars in Nigeria, so their fans would love to put on a good show.
The African Giant Look: Forget the Afrofusion and Zanku for a minute, Burna Boy has been one of the most fashionable stars of the last two years. Without even trying to look too extra, he shows up in simple, yet unusually cool designs that make people admire him even more. A good number of fans and fellow stars keep trying to copy him, so we don’t expect different at the Burna Boy Concert. His fans will try new things, he will surprise us with another look from his playbook and that will be it.
The Cool Chic Gang: Tiwa Savage knows how to show off her awesome body when she performs on stage, and the same goes for DJ Cuppy. They take chic styles to a whole new level, their fans have been watching, and with Pepsi’s help they will be hosting parties this December, which means a lot of cool chic styles on display.
The Uniforms: DJ Xclusive is having an all-white party, Teni is giving her fans The Billionaire Experience, so while everyone will be in white at DJ Xclusive’s, fans at Teni’s party will show up in whatever it is billionaires wear to a party. Anyone who wants to get an aso ebi feel should be at one of these parties.
