Popular Ethiopian show promoter Konjo Layla has crowned Davido and Wizkid the Giants of Africa and Burna Boy an upcoming artiste.
Layla who happens to be the ex-girlfriend of Skales and a prominent figure in African music made this known in an Instagram live session. According to her, unlike other people, she doesn’t feel Burna Boy is the biggest artiste in Africa. Leyla said Davido is the king and nobody can take that from him because the demand for the singer is high especially in East Africa.
“Now here is the thing, at the moment, most people feel like Burna Boy is the biggest artist in Africa, I don’t feel like that, he is not. .The reason why he is not is because he still has more work to do in the countries in Africa. This is a true story, when it comes to Africa, David is the king, believe or not, period!.
Nobody can take away that from him when it comes to overall Africa. Let me tell you why, I have booked so many shows for David. 95% of bookings is David, the demand is so high. .Nigerians are probably going to say Wizkid and Burna Boy are bigger, but they can’t tell me that when it comes to East Africa, we know David is the king.“
In another post, she stated that Burna Boy is still an upcoming artsite that has a lot of work to do. She told people to start calling him the Nigerian back up Giant instead of the African Giant that he is fondly called. She wrote: “Burna Boy still upcoming artist for east Africa. He got a lot of works to do. Too early to crown him. Stop calling him African giant, Maybe Nigerian Backup giant. The Real African giant @Davidoofficial @Wizkidayo. this is the real fact”
